A Perspective on Deep Imaging

The combination of medical imaging and deep learning promises to empower not only image analysis but also image reconstruction. The latter perspective is considered in this perspective article to develop low- and high-hanging image reconstruction techniques. This might lead to intelligent utilization of domain knowledge in terms of big data, innovative approaches for image reconstruction, and superior performance in clinical and preclinical applications but major challenges must be addressed.
